This full-color 3D printed Mars miniature brings the Red Planet into the palm of your hand. Produced with WJP full-color 3D printing technology, it captures the planet’s signature rusty surface tones and dark volcanic plains with lifelike accuracy. Every shade and subtle variation of Mars’ rugged terrain is reproduced directly from digital planetary maps.

Unlike the Moon model, which was kept matte to highlight its rocky texture, this Mars sphere was finished with a thin layer of clear acrylic oil. The coating enhances color depth, giving the reds and blacks a richer, more vibrant appearance, while the glossy surface adds durability and a polished display quality.

Solution

• Step 1: Planetary surface maps were prepared, and the spherical model was UV-mapped with Martian textures.
• Step 2: The solid sphere was checked for printability and prepared for WJP full-color output.
• Step 3: Printing was carried out layer by layer: powder was spread, binder and CMYK inks were jetted, and each layer was solidified.
• Step 4: The printed part was excavated from the powder bed, and excess powder was removed by brushing and vacuuming.
• Step 5: A thin layer of clear acrylic oil was applied to enhance color depth and produce a glossy finish.
• Step 6: Final inspection for surface quality and dimensional accuracy was performed before delivery.
