About Project

Tanaka's spinal cord sword is a famous scene for Chainsaw Man fans. A designer got inspiration from it and turned it into an everyday item: Tanaka's spinal key sword, which is composed of a head sculpture and a key blank.

Solution

• Step 1: The artist built the 3D model with reference to the comics and based on the key blank’s dimension.
• Step 2: Input the 3D model into the slicing software and add supporting structures. SLA Generic Resin is chosen for this application as it’s the cheapest resin for printing models with fine details.
• Step 3: Take out the print and wash it with IPA to remove excess materials. Post-cure it with UV. Polish the head model and spray it with metallic paint. Try to assemble it with the key.
