The client designed a production line for his factory and ordered a set of scaled-down model. If printed in one piece, the piping system requires a lot of supporting material when printing, and it's hard to remove the supports. Another option is to split the model and glue the printed parts.
Solution
Step 1: Examine the models to ensure the thickness of all the details are large enough for printing. Split the 3D models into multiple parts for the ease of printing and post-processing.
Step 2: Arrange the placement of the parts in the slicer software. 3D print all the parts with SLA Generic Resin. The layer thickness we set is 0.05mm and we control the tolerance within 卤0.1 mm.
Step 3: When printing is completed, rinse the model with IPA and post-cure it with UV. Cut off all the supports and marks with scissors and graters, then polish with sandpaper. Spray the model with putties to make the surface look better.
Step 4: Paint all the parts into appointed colors with airguns. Then glue them together into one piece.
