It’s sometimes difficult to find a replacement for some old mechanical parts, but they are crucial for the machine’s operation. Remake one component with 3D scanning, reverse engineering, and 3D printing technologies may cost more than $300, but it’s worthy to extend the life of millions of dollars worth of a machine.

Solution

• First, according to the shape and accuracy requirements of the scanned object, the detection points are pasted in the appropriate positions.
• Secondly, use the MangoFree 3D scanning system to scan and map together with photogrammetry to obtain high-precision 3D data.
• Finally, after processing the data obtained by scanning with related software, STP format drawings can be generated.
• Recommend printing the components with SLA Durable Resin according to its function, then 3D printing it with our industrial SLA 3D printer after adding supports.
• Necessary post-process like sanding and polishing. Measure the dimensions of old and new parts, and compare them to make sure the tolerance is acceptable.
