Desktop Metal is ramping up its production of the office-friendly Studio System for metal 3D printing to meet growing demand. The updated production capability is now allowing the Massachusetts-based company to ship out 550 Studio Systems per year. The increased production also means that new orders made from within the United States and Canada can be fulfilled within just two weeks.
Aleph Objects, known for its LulzBot 3D printers, today unveils its latest piece of 3D printer hardware, the LulzBot TAZ Pro. Desktop 3D printer manufacturer XYZprinting is hoping to broaden the use of additive manufacturing in education with a new bundle program. The initiative, targeted at teachers and schools, provides a free 3D printer with the purchase of the XYZPrinting K-12 STEAM curriculum.
Printing and cutting specialist Mimaki today introduces a new desktop 3D printer, the Mimaki 3DFF-222. The new FFF 3D printer, co-branded with South Korean AM company Sindoh, is designed for production applications, such as functional prototypes, end-use jigs, signage and more.
3D printer manufacturer Markforged has raised $82 million through a Series D investment round led by Summit Partners. The funding round also saw participation from existing investors Matrix Partners, Microsoft’s Venture Fund M12 and Porsche SE. The multi-million dollar investment will enable Markforged to accelerate its product roadmap—including the release of mass production printers and a range of new materials,—to ramp up its global expansion and to reinforce the company’s position in the global manufacturing industry.
