AM giant GE Additive has introduced the Arcam EBM Spectra H metal additive manufacturing system for the first time at RAPID + TCT 2018. The new system, now available for pre-order, is built for processing and printing typically challenging metal materials such as titanium aluminide (TiAl). The Arcam EBM Spectra H marks the first system put out by Sweden-based Arcam since it was acquired by GE in 2016.
Sinterit, the developer of the first desktop selective laser sintering (SLS) 3D printer—Sinterit Lisa—is launching its next product, the suitably named Lisa 2. Aircraft manufacturer Boeing has announced a new partnership with Assembrix Ltd, an Israeli company known for its cloud-based platform that virtualizes and streamlines industrial 3D printing. Through a newly signed Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), Boeing will adopt Assembrix’s software in order to protect the intellectual property it shares with vendors throughout the design and manufacturing processes.
