Heraeus Demonstrates Amorphous Metals for AM of Medical Implants

Until now, implants and prostheses have mostly been made of steel or titanium. This has disadvantages as these materials do not always adapt optimally to patients and their bones. They can break and require repeat operations. Recent research by Heraeus Amloy together with the University of Graz is on the verge of a breakthrough, demonstrating that amorphous metals can be used to additively manufacture medical implants.

3D LifePrints closes £1.2 investment funding round to expand medical 3D printing business Medical

The world of 3D printing doesn’t stop. In fact, if anything, it has accelerated. 3D LifePrints UK Ltd, one of the UK’s leading medical 3D printing organizations, has recently closed an investment round of £1.2M led by Fenwall Investments. The investment will be used to rapidly expand 3D LifePrints’ existing foothold in the UK’s medical sector and overseas and follows on from previous investment in 2017 and 2018.
