Materialise, a leading provider of additive manufacturing software and 3D printing services, has appointed Koen Berges as the company’s new chief financial officer – effective May 15, 2023. Berges will succeed the company’s long-time CFO, Johan Albrecht, who has decided to leave Materialise at the end of May ‘to pursue new opportunities’.
Gurvinder Kahlon has joined Stratasys as Vice President and General Manager of Stratasys Direct, Inc. – the company’s on-demand parts business, where he will report to Chief Industrial Business Officer, Rich Garrity. Kahlon will play a key role in growing Stratasys Direct’s AM production business. He brings over 20 years of digital manufacturing experience in software, factory automation, R&D, and product management roles.
Zeda, Inc. (formerly PrinterPrezz, Inc.), a global leader in advanced 3D manufacturing and nanotechnology solutions for the medical, space, defense, and aerospace industries, has appointed Geoffrey Doyle as the company’s Chief Investment Officer. He previously served as a founding advisor. In this role, Geoffrey will be a critical driver of the company’s international expansion plans and investment strategies.
Optomec CEO, Dave Ramahi, has sadly and unexpectedly passed away. Yesterday, the company issued the following statement: “It is with intense sadness that we announce Dave Ramahi, President and Chief Executive Officer of Optomec, died unexpectedly of natural causes at his home in Boston, Massachusetts. Optomec’s Board of Directors, its management team, and its employees extend their deepest sympathies to Dave’s family. He will be remembered for the personal compassion and boundless energy he brought to the company and its customers. He will be deeply missed by many across the industry.”

VulcanForms, an MIT-born company that builds and operates advanced digital manufacturing infrastructure, has appointed Dr. Philip Garton, a seasoned finance executive with more than three decades of experience at global organizations, as its Chief Financial Officer.
Robb Hudson has been appointed as the CEO and President of MELD PrintWorks Corporation – MELD Manufacturing Corporation’s new spin-out company.
Alexander Schmitz is now effectively the CEO of GE Additive. GE appointed Alexander Schmitz as the CEO of GE Additive last December with the role effective as of January 16, 2023. He will be based in Munich, Germany, and will report to GE Additive’s current chief executive, Riccardo Procacci, who takes on an expanded leadership role at GE Aerospace.
Velo3D has appointed Dr. Robin Stamp as Director of Solutions Engineering to help grow the adoption of Velo3D’s metal additive manufacturing technology with new customers, in new industries. In his role, Dr. Stamp will oversee the development of new standards with regulatory agencies, the qualification of new metal alloys for use in the Sapphire family of printers, and the collaboration with partners and agencies.
