During a virtual event titled “The Xometry Marketplace: Powering Tomorrow’s Supply Chain”, Xometry launched a suite of new digital products, including – The Industrial Buying Engine on Thomasnet.com, and Workcenter (an all-in-one “manufacturing execution system”). The company has also opened the new Workcenter to third-party developers.
The Industrial Buying Engine on Thomasnet.com offers new digital sourcing models for enterprise buyers, and significantly expands the on-platform capabilities of Thomasnet.com to give enterprise buyers a new digital sourcing model.
The Industrial Buying Engine helps enterprise customers source, and purchase, from more than 500,000 top suppliers (all within the Thomasnet.com ecosystem), digitizes the outdated and time-consuming RFQ process (taking what was once done “off-platform” and integrating it into the heart of Thomasnet.com), and includes Xometry’s Instant Quoting Engine (for those customers who want to buy it now) – shortening a process that previously could take weeks, or months, to complete, to mere hours or seconds. Buyers are now able to seamlessly purchase across the Xometry Marketplace and the Thomasnet.com platform.
Manufacturing on Demand
The other new digital product launched by Xometry, the Xometry Workcenter, is an all-in-one “manufacturing execution system” – giving suppliers a one-stop-shop for all their orders. The Xometry Workcenter brings what suppliers value about the company – such as the popular Job Board and its fin-tech services – and everything they value about Thomasnet all into one, easy-to-use system.
By digitizing all aspects of client operations, shop owners are able to quote new projects, build and manage workflows for existing projects, assign tasks to team members, perform quality control, track the status of projects, view completed work, get paid more seamlessly, and manage all of their work – including off-platform work from their non-Xometry customers.
Suppliers can also track payouts, take advantage of InstantPay, FastPay, and Advance Card fin-tech products, and much more. In short, the Xometry Workcenter is both flexible and robust and will help shops make the necessary digital leap.
Xometry has also opened its API-enabled Workcenter to third-party developers – to create an ecosystem of interconnected solutions, which allows for innovation to come from all corners of the industry for the benefit of the whole. By expanding the ecosystem, Xometry can now provide its growing supplier base with more innovative products and services.
