Solution

• Step 1: The 3D model of the figurine was created using a software program and uploaded to the FacFox website.
• Step 2: The model was sliced into thin layers and sent to the ColorJet 3D printer.
• Step 3: A thin layer of white sandstone powder was spread over the build platform by a roller.
• Step 4: A print head deposited a colored binder agent onto the powder layer, according to the 3D model data. The binder agent fused and colored the powder particles, forming a solid layer of the figurine.
• Step 5: This process was repeated for each layer, until the entire figurine was built. The platform moved down after each layer was completed.
• Step 6: The figurine was removed from the powder bed and cleaned. Any excess powder was recycled for future use.
