About Project
Please note: Due to recent changes in policy, FacFox does not currently sell weapon-related products. This showcase serves as a demonstration of our CNC machining capabilities and is not a representation of available items.
This post showcases a CNC-milled Samson Ruger SS316L flash hider, a prime example of our ability to craft high-precision firearm components. The flash hider is constructed from a sleek, silver-colored stainless steel (SS316L) and boasts a cylindrical design.
Two distinguishing features interrupt the smooth, reflective surface: elongated openings strategically placed on opposite sides of the midsection. These openings play a crucial role in the function of the flash hider.
Flash hiders serve a critical purpose for firearms by reducing the visible signature, or flash, of burning gases exiting the barrel when a weapon is discharged. By dispersing these gases, the flash hider helps mask the shooter's location, particularly in low-light conditions.
This capability can be advantageous in various situations, including:
- Military and law enforcement operations where concealing one's position can be critical for tactical maneuvers.
- Hunting scenarios where minimizing visual disturbance can be essential for a successful shot.
At FacFox, we leverage CNC machining technology to achieve exceptional precision and accuracy in every component we produce. This ensures that our flash hiders, like the one showcased here, deliver:
- Consistent performance: The precise design and manufacturing guarantee that each flash hider functions identically.
- Reliable gas dispersion: The meticulously placed openings ensure optimal gas dispersal for effective flash reduction.
- Durability: The high-quality stainless steel construction guarantees longevity and resistance to corrosion.
While this post highlights our capabilities in crafting firearm components, our CNC machining expertise extends far beyond. We offer a vast range of services for various industries, including:
- Aerospace components
- Automotive parts
- Medical devices
- Consumer electronics
And much more!

Solution
- Step 1: A solid bar of stainless steel (SS316L) was first loaded onto a CNC machine. The machine then precisely cut away excess material, shaping the bar into a cylindrical form. This initial shaping process created the base geometry of the flash hider.
- Step 2: The CNC machine meticulously machined the elongated openings on opposite sides of the midsection. These cuts were made according to a pre-programmed design to ensure consistent placement and size for optimal gas dispersion.
- Step 3: Following the creation of the openings, the entire surface of the flash hider was meticulously smoothed and polished. This step resulted in the characteristic reflective finish associated with high-quality firearm components.
- Step 4: The completed flash hider underwent a rigorous quality control inspection. This inspection ensured the component met all dimensional and functional specifications before being packaged and shipped.
