Solution
- Step 1: Material Selection.聽A solid block of SS316L stainless steel was chosen for its superior strength and corrosion resistance.
- Step 2: CAD Design.聽A precise computer-aided design (CAD) model of the triangular flange nut was generated. This model specified the exact dimensions, thread pattern, and triangular flange geometry.
- Step 3: CNC Machine Setup.聽The CNC machine was meticulously programmed to follow the pre-designed CAD model. This involved defining the toolpaths, speeds, and feeds for each machining step.
- Step 4: Stock Loading. The solid block of SS316L was securely fastened within the CNC machine’s vise or chuck.
- Step 5: Roughing.聽The CNC machine utilized cutting tools to remove excess material from the block, progressively shaping it closer to the final triangular flange nut form.
- Step 6: Drilling and Threading.聽A dedicated drill bit precisely created the central hole in the nut. Subsequently, specialized cutting tools meticulously carved the internal threads to match the desired thread pattern.
