Many baby cribs have low bed frames so parents have to bend down and take their babies. A client developed this baby crib with storage units, it's back-friendly, and baby's consumers can be placed in the drawer and cabinet. The prototype is painted in red as redwood furniture are still popular in China.
Solution
Step 1: The client builds the model in CAD, and exports the STL files for printing. For the convenience of printing and post-processing, we split the model from top to down into three parts.
Step 2: We arrange the parts in software and add necessary supports, especially the hollowed parts and handrails. Then 3D print them with SLA Tough Resin. The layer thickness we set is 0.05mm and we control the tolerance within 卤0.1 mm.
Step 3: When printing is completed, rinse the models with IPA and post-cure them with UV. Cut off all the supports and marks with scissors and graters, then polish with sandpaper.
Step 4: Glue the parts together into one piece. Spray with putties and paint the parts in dark wood color with airbrushes.
