About Project

Inspired by lotus, the client designed a Chinese teapot, teacups and a saucer and made the prototypes with SLA 3D printing technology. The teapot is a bud while the teacups are petals that can compose a blooming lotus.

Solution

  • Step 1: The client designs the tea set with Rhinoceros. After examination, we advise the client to add the thickness of some details so they could look obvious when printed.
  • Step 2: We arrange the parts in software and add necessary supports. Then 3D print them with SLA Generic Resin. The layer thickness we set is 0.05mm and we control the tolerance within ±0.2 mm.
  • Step 3: When printing is completed, rinse the models with IPA and post-cure them with UV. Cut off all the supports, then polish with sandpaper.
  • Step 4: To make the surface look better, we spray some putty onto the models, then polish and color them with glossy paints with an airgun.
