Solution
- Step 1: The original Ferrari LaFerrari was 3D scanned. This process captured the precise dimensions and contours of the vehicle.
- Step 2: A digital 3D model was created through reverse engineering and CAD software. This ensured accurate reproduction of the vehicle’s design.
- Step 3: The 3D model was prepared for SLA printing. This involved slicing the model and optimizing it for the chosen printing process.
- Step 4: The individual sections of the LaFerrari enclosure were 3D printed using SLA ABS-like resin. This material was selected for its accuracy, durability, and machinability.
- Step 5: The printed sections were cleaned and post-processed. This involved removing support structures and smoothing the surfaces.
- Step 6: The individual printed sections were assembled. This was done to form the full car enclosure.
- Step 7: The prints were fixed to the frame by bolts and fasteners, rivets and adhesives. This provided a secure and stable structure.
- Step 8: The assembled enclosure was sanded and prepared for painting. This ensured a smooth and flawless finish.
- Step 9: The enclosure was painted in a glossy red finish. This replicated the iconic Ferrari color.
