About Project

Here is a customed indoor sculpture of which the design is inspired by growing plants. Its stem is thick enough and the leaves could maintain balance with the base. After evaluation, we decided to print it in one piece.

Solution

• Step 1: The leaves of this plant sculpture are quite large, so we need to hollow the leaves and make the stem and base solid to keep the balance.
• Step 2: We arrange the parts in software and add necessary supports. Then 3D print them with SLA Durable Resin. The layer thickness we set is 0.1mm.
• Step 3: When printing is completed, rinse the models with IPA and post-cure them with UV. Cut off all the supports, then spray with putties and polish with sandpaper.
• Step 4: Color the whole model into silver with an airbrush and metallic paint.
