The resin bust sculpture is printed as a display stand for the BJD doll heads collected by a client. There are sockets on the top and bottom of the bust, so it could be removed from the circular table.
Solution
Step 1: The client builds the 3D model with Nomad Sculpt and exports the STL file to our engineer for examination. We give her a quote based on the dimension she wants.
Step 2: Add supporting structures, feed the STL file into slicer software, and arrange the position for the model. For display models, we would try to avoid making the layer lines appear on the top and front sides.
Step 3: 3D print the scaled-down model using SLA Generic Resin with layer height of 0.05mm.
Step 4: Post-process it by washing the print with IPA, post-curing with UV, cutting off the supports, and air-drying. Then polish it with fine-grit sandpaper.
