Making art displays, especially those with an irregular shape, is now very easy with industrial 3D printers. You can either print the model as a whole or split it into parts to save time and lower the risk of shipping damage.
Solution
Step 1: As the hanging sculpture is quite large, we check the model and split it according to our printers’ build volume.
Step 2: We arrange the parts in software and add necessary supports. Then 3D print them with SLA Durable Resin. The layer thickness we set is 0.1mm.
Step 3: When printing is completed, rinse the models with IPA and post-cure them with UV. Cut off all the supports, then polish with sandpaper.
Step 4: Cover the parts with white paint and clear acrylic to prevent yellowing. Assemble them together with superglue.
