Solution
- Step 1: Iron discs were salvaged from industrial scrap piles. The surface and edges of the discs were trimmed or polished to create uniformity and a better fit into the vase base.
- Step 2: A 3D model of the vase was designed with a recessed cavity in the base to precisely fit the iron disc, adding visual weight and real stability.
- Step 3: The vase was printed using FDM 3D printing with translucent or pastel-colored filament, featuring a ribbed vertical pattern for elegance and structural integrity.
- Step 4: The iron disc was inserted into the printed cavity, possibly friction-fitted or glued, locking the weight into place without compromising the design.
