About Project

Here at FacFox, we're proud to showcase the versatility of our SLA 3D printing and dyeing services with this recent project! Our client requested a unique set of custom clear resin models, featuring a combination of C-shaped rings and comma-like designs. To truly elevate these pieces, we offered three variations: one dyed a vibrant red, another a sleek black, and the last left in its pristine clear state.

The client's vision exemplifies the beauty and customization possibilities that SLA 3D printing offers. This technology allows for incredibly smooth, high-resolution prints, perfect for capturing the intricate details of the C-shaped and comma-like designs. The crystal-clear resin further accentuates the elegance of the rings, and the option to add vibrant dyes like red and black opens up a world of creative possibilities.

This project also highlights the value FacFox's expert resin dyeing services can add to your 3D printed creations. Our team possesses the knowledge and experience to achieve a wide range of colors and effects, transforming your designs from concept to stunning reality.

Solution

  • Step 1: A 3D model containing both C-shaped and comma-like ring designs was digitally prepared. This model was then translated into instructions for the SLA 3D printer.
  • Step 2: A vat of liquid SLA Clear Resin was loaded into the printer. A laser beam, carefully guided by mirrors, selectively cured the resin layer by layer, solidifying it according to the digital model. Each layer was incredibly thin, resulting in a smooth and highly detailed final product.
  • Step 3: Once the printing process was complete, the rings were carefully removed from the build platform and underwent a post-processing stage. This involved cleaning any residual resin and ensuring a flawless surface finish, polishing and coating with a thin layer of clear acrylic oil.
  • Step 4: For two of the ring sets, a separate dyeing process was undertaken. The rings were submerged in baths of pre-selected dyes, one red and one black. Careful monitoring ensured the dyes achieved the desired level of saturation.
  • Step 5: Finally, all three sets of rings – one clear, one red, and one black – were inspected and meticulously packaged for delivery to the client. This process showcased the precision and versatility of SLA 3D printing, along with the ability to achieve stunning aesthetics through expert resin dyeing.
