About Project

To boost local tourism, many cities have built landmarks and invite network influencers to shoot photos. Weihai City has designed a giant photo frame statue and build it by the sea. It did work. Many tourists would add the landmark to their itinerary. Before the design was settled down, we 3D printed a scaled-down prototype first.

Solution

• Step 1: The designers draw the drafts and pass them on to modelers to build the 3D models after the client is consent.
• Step 2: Build the 3D model in CAD, then import the file to the 3D printer.
• Step 3: 3D print the sand model. No support is needed as the powder can serve as supports.
• Step 4: Clear the sand model from excess sand. And make adjustments with sandpaper.
