About Project

This set looks like it came from a fantasy game world where every character belongs to a different mysterious tribe. Some figures seem to be fish-like humanoid characters with bright aquatic helmets and scale-patterned robes, while another carries a bird-like or shamanic feeling through its feathered shoulders, layered cloak, and ceremonial headpiece. Together, they form a small but memorable cast of folk-inspired fantasy characters.

The charm of these figurines comes from how much world-building is hidden in the details. The designers used saturated orange, turquoise, blue, red, cream, and gold tones, then added waves, scales, geometric borders, hanging ornaments, masks, beads, and cloak patterns to give each character its own cultural flavor. They do not look like direct copies of real traditional costumes; instead, they feel like original game characters inspired by folk art, mythology, regional color palettes, and creature design.

For this kind of character prototype, WJP full-color 3D printing is especially useful because the colors and patterns are part of the character design itself. The process can produce clear printed patterns, vivid costume blocks, soft gradients, and tiny facial details in one integrated model, without splitting the parts by color or relying on manual painting. Challenge

The challenge was to reproduce the vivid folk-inspired character designs, including small facial details, printed robe patterns, scale and wave motifs, feather-like structures, accessories, and saturated color blocks.

Solution

  • Step 1: The 3D models were checked before production, including the character silhouettes, headpieces, robe edges, feather-like parts, masks, ornaments, hands, and small facial features.
  • Step 2: The full-color texture data was prepared for WJP printing, so the orange, red, blue, turquoise, cream, gold, and patterned areas could be reproduced directly from the digital files.
  • Step 3: The figurines were printed with full-color photopolymer resin materials, which were jetted and UV-cured layer by layer to form the integrated fantasy character prototypes.
  • Step 4: Support material was removed after printing, and delicate areas such as the headpieces, robe edges, hanging ornaments, feather-like structures, and small hands were carefully cleaned.
  • Step 5: The printed surfaces were finished to preserve the original full-color appearance, allowing the costume patterns, gradients, and creature-inspired details to remain visible without manual painting.
  • Step 6: The finished figurines were inspected from different angles to confirm the color accuracy, pattern clarity, structural integrity, and overall game-character display effect.
