If there’s anything cooler than Groot, it’s a 3D printed Groot. Having been expertly modeled in Z-Brush, this Groot’s a blast to print and show off. 3D modeling and 3D printing enable global fans to create their versions of film characters fast and affordable.
Solution
Step 1: Examine the STL file and communicate with our client about his requirements. After both confirm the size, structure, material and finishing, we input the 3D model into the slicing software and add support structure.
Step 2: If you don’t like the rough surface finish of FDM printed objects, SLA will be the better choice. SLA 3D printing is known for its fine features, smooth surface finish, ultimate part precision, and accuracy.
Step 3: Take out the print and wash them with IPA to remove excess materials and supports. Sand and polish the print to remove marks and bumps. Then post-cure them with UV.
Step 4: Paint the Groot statue with reference to the movie screenshots by hand.
