The benefits of additive manufacturing technologies within the jewelry and luxury goods sector are clear. Processes such as stereolithography (SLA) have opened the doors for intricate and beautiful jewelry design as well as customized luxury ornaments. In the case of polymer-based SLA, 3D printed jewelry typically requires molding and casting post-processes to create the final piece.

Norman Noble adds metal AM for production of next-gen medical devices Medical

Norman Noble, a leading contract manufacturer of next-generation medical implants, has now implemented metal additive manufacturing capabilities. AM is seen by the company as a manufacturing solution for new product designs that could otherwise not be produced using standard methods. Additive manufactured, 3D printed parts can now be made from metallic based alloys including: titanium, stainless steel and cobalt chrome. The ability to produce additive-manufactured parts from magnesium and nitinol also is currently under development.

Prodways reports first multiple sales for the new ProMaker LD-10 dental printer Medical

Prodways Group reported received the first simultaneous order for two ProMaker LD-10s from a front-running North-American dental laboratory. The sale is symbolic is several respects. It illustrates the successful launch of the new ProMaker LD-10 developed by Prodways Technologies in 2017 to expand the MOVINGLight range to new segment of dental laboratories requiring industrial machines priced below €100,000. Furthermore, it validates the recognition that 3D printing production machines from Prodways are receiving.

SHINING 3D opens new American HQ in San Francisco AM Industry

SHINING 3D, an industry leader in 3D digitizing and printing industries, opened its new office for the Americas, as part of its plan for expansion into global markets. The new office, located at 1740 César Chávez St. Unit D. San Francisco, CA 94124, is the company’s third main office, adding to the headquarters in Hangzhou, Zhejiang and the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) office in Stuttgart, Germany, which opened last year. The San Francisco office will serve as the base of operations for SHINING 3D’s markets in North America, Central and South America.
