Artist 3D Prints Wooden Stag in Anticipation of Game of Thrones Series Premiere AM Software

Winter is coming in Summer this year, as the final season of Game of Thrones gets ready for the series premiere next July 16th. In anticipation of what can be considered on of the main TV events of the year, graphic artist George Crudo used Pixologic’s Zbrush to create the 3D model of a wooden stag to be 3D printed and signed by actress Kerry Ingram, who plays Shireen in the series.

Google Launches Blocks App to Easily 3D Model Objects in Virtual Reality AM Software

Today, it takes complex software and a specific skillset to create compelling VR and AR experiences. That software also requires building 3D objects on a 2D screen—something our brains aren’t wired to do. Starting from the assumption that creating the objects while in virtual reality could make this easier, the Google VR team developed Blocks, a VR app for the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift that lets you easily create beautiful, 3D objects in no time.

Kodama Launches Kickstarter for Obsidian Sub-$100 Professional 3D Printer 3D Printer Hardware

Kodama, the makers of Trinus, 2016ʼs highly successful Kickstarter-backed 3D printer and laser engraver, are launching a new 3D printer named Obsidian. It will be the first 3D printer made for professional applications starting at under $100. This marked the first time any company has launched a professional grade system at this price point however it would not be the first time that low cost projects have failed miserably on Kickstarter.

Each year, a select group of winners are awarded funding, mentoring and business support to help accelerate their business growth and develop their winning ideas. Following a rigorous selection process, RP Platform was chosen as one of the 2017 winners, out of more than 1,900 applications from 60 countries.

Höganäs installs first external P2000 metal binder jetting 3D printer at CETIM 3D Printer Hardware

Höganäs installed its first P2000 3D printer last week for CETIM, a French industrial institute. The printer, one of the very first that the company has installed outside its own premises – arrived on Monday and first printing trials were conducted on Wednesday the same week, reports Niclas Malm who is responsible for service and support regarding Höganäs Digital Metal technology.
