Xact Metal, a company focused on making 3D printing technology affordable and accessible, is set to launch the XM300G series of mid-size metal 3D printers at IMTS 2022 in Chicago, Illinois. The series aims to bring affordable metal 3D printing to small- to medium-sized companies and decentralize metal 3D printing.
With the new GMP300 metal 3D printer, GROB, a German company specializing in automated production systems, looks to offer its customers a production system for the manufacturing of near-net-shape components via AM range for the first time. The new LMP (Liquid Metal Printing) system, which was first unveiled at a GROB in-house exhibition, announcing the entry of GROB-WERKE into the Additive Manufacturing sector, has now also been presented at the ongoing Additive Manufacturing Forum in Berlin.
Mitsubishi Electric Corporation is releasing two models of the new AZ600 digital wire-laser metal 3D printer on March 1st. The new systems work by melting welding wire, instead of powder, with a laser beam to create high-quality 3D structures. These products build on the initial introduction by Mitsubishi Electric of a unique, proprietary dot forming AM technology back in 2018.
Optomec, a specialist in metal additive manufacturing, has announced the launch of two new Directed Energy Deposition systems, the LENS CS 600 and CS 800 Controlled Atmosphere (CA). The new systems, which expand upon Optomec’s LENS series, were developed with the aim of maximizing the process’ build envelope while reducing the machine’s chamber volume and overall footprint.
Metal AM magazine was the first – and only media so far – to report on the upcoming EOS M 300, the successor to EOS’ best selling M 280 and M 290 metal 3D printers. According to Metal AM, the new system was teased during the recent EOS Technology Days at the company’s new headquarters in Krailling, Germany, on July 17-18.
GE Additive, the AM division of General Electric, has announced an update to its Concept Laser M2 cusing and M2 cusing Multilaser machines. The new versions reportedly improve productivity and print reliability and can contribute to lower overall operating costs. The upgraded metal AM systems are now available to order.
AM giant GE Additive has introduced the Arcam EBM Spectra H metal additive manufacturing system for the first time at RAPID + TCT 2018. The new system, now available for pre-order, is built for processing and printing typically challenging metal materials such as titanium aluminide (TiAl). The Arcam EBM Spectra H marks the first system put out by Sweden-based Arcam since it was acquired by GE in 2016.
Though RAPID+TCT 2018 may have wrapped up last week, the news from the additive manufacturing event is still rolling in. One of the exciting announcements from the event comes from New York-based metal 3D printing company Vader Systems, which presented three new AM offerings based on its patented Magnet-o-Jet technology. The three new systems include the Vader Polaris liquid metal 3D printing system, the Magnet-o-Jet Subsystem for hybrid manufacturing equipment integration and the Ares Microsphere Production System.
Los Angeles based 3D-Hybrid introduced a new revolutionary tool that aims to simplify metal additive manufacturing (AM) by turning existing CNC (metal-cutting) machines into metal arc-welding, laser metal deposition or cold spray 3D printers. The tools lower the cost of metal AM, increase speed, and offer new capabilities like multi-material parts.
Digital Metal, part of the Höganäs Group, the world’s leading producer of metal powders, has initiated commercial production of the industry’s first high-precision binder jetting 3D metal printer. The new DM P2500 can produce smaller and more intricate components than any previous technology. The system can be purchased or licensed from Digital Metal and is ideal for serial production and customized parts, opening up the possibility to print what was once impossible.
