A group of researchers from the Mayo Clinic, the Georgia Institute of Technology, and the Medical University of South Carolina have 3D printed a low-cost proof-of-concept spinal surgical simulator.
Optomec has reached another important milestone in its continued growth, with the delivery of its 600th industrial 3D printer. The company has now installed more than 250 of its proprietary LENS Systems, for 3D printed metal, and over 350 of its patented Aerosol Jet Systems, with the majority of its recent machines being used for high ROI production applications.
REGEMAT3D, based in Granada, Spain has completed its second round of equity crowdfunding. Thanks to the participation of more than 500 investors, a total of €515,402 has been raised, which will be used to continue the development of the tissue and organ bioprinting technologies that the company has been marketing since 2015.
SU-PAD, a supplier of machines and equipment for the plastics industry, 3D printers, robotics, ultrasonic soldering, and lasers, has signed an exclusive distribution agreement with Tritone Technologies, a global provider of metal and ceramic additive manufacturing technology for industrial production – completing SU-PAD’s range of metal 3D printers and services offered in Israel.
Thanks to a recent update, Watermark 3D is now compatible with colored 3D files. The update adds 3 new formats that can be watermarked, including OBJ, GLB, and DAE/Collada – to an already-supported STL. The update is currently in testing as models with color information are trickier than models without. The company is encouraging users to try the updated version and provide the company with feedback.

In this work, the researchers push the boundaries of the optimal design of orthopedic implants. The optimized micro-architected implants, which are suitable for additive manufacturing, result in a significant increase in performance compared to a conventional solid implant design.

The Phantom of the Opera is a musical based on the 1910 French novel of the same name by Gaston Leroux. First performed in 1986, it has become the longest-running show in musical history. Back in March 2022, the show was performed at the Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour, Australia. Only this time, with a slightly more contemporary touch – the Phantom of the Opera masks were 3D printed.
