ICON scores $207 million in Series B funding

ICON, developer of advanced construction technologies including robotics, software and building materials, today announced it has completed a $207 million Series B round of financing led by Norwest Venture Partners. ICON also welcomes Jeff Crowe, Managing Partner at Norwest Venture Partners, a leading multi-stage investment firm, to its Board of Directors. From world-renowned architects to the country’s largest homebuilders, ICON’s line-up of series B investors also includes 8VC, BIG-Bjarke Ingels Group, BOND, Citi, Crosstimbers, Ensemble, Fifth Wall, LENx, Moderne Ventures and Oakhouse Partners. The investment brings ICON’s total funding since launching its revolutionary technology to $266 million.

Perrone Robotics TONY AV tech will drive Olli electric shuttles

Perrone Robotics, Inc., a provider of fully autonomous vehicle (AV) technology, and Local Motors Inc., a manufacturer of largely 3D printed shared electric autonomous shuttles, have signed an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) agreement. The two companies have agreed to develop next-generation autonomous shuttles that will integrate Perrone’s autonomous vehicle technology into Olli, the shuttle designed and manufactured by Local Motors.

A creative powerhouse, the newly established nFrontier Emerging Technologies Center [EmTeCe], the core of the nFrontier Innovation Studio, established in 2020, aims at becoming one of Europe’s leading facilities of creatively applied Emerging Technologies in soft- and hardware. The EmTeCe will integrate the “Emerging Eight Technologies“ in one single facility: Additive Manufacturing, Augmented Reality / Virtual Reality, Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, Robotics, Generative Design, Drones, and Quantum Computing.
