EuroMold, the world’s largest annual 3D printing and mold-making convention, typically finds its approximately 1,000 exhibitors and 55,000 trade visitors meeting in Frankfurt, Germany. This year, however, the EuroMold show and its host, Messe Frankfurt GmbH, have parted ways and the event will, instead, head to Düsseldorf. As a result, EOS, manufacturer of industrial 3D printing systems, has opted to showcase its latest systems, instead, at the ‘formnext powered by TCT’ trade show in Frankfurt, this November 24-27th.

Of the exhibition decision, EOS head of sales and marketing Dr. Adrian Keppler, said, “Our goal was to make a well-educated decision for the future of our company and for our industry. We are currently operating in a fascinating and growing market environment and see great potential ahead for the entire industry. After a thorough analysis of all possible alternatives, we feel that ‘formnext powered by TCT’ has the biggest potential to become the leading, long-term global AM show of the future, offering the best platform we can currently think of to support further extensive market development of the entire AM industry. We look forward to meeting all relevant AM players at this show in Frankfurt.”

EuroMold, also called the World Fair for Moldmaking and Tooling, Design, Additive Manufacturing and Product Development, announced the change in venue at last year’s event. With the Düsseldorf taking place September 22nd to the 25th, EuroMold management hopes to enhance the event, expanding the 3D printing section in particular as the event enters its 21st year in production. formnext powered by TCT is a new event put on by Mesago Messe Frankfurt that seems to directly compete with EuroMold, billed as a four-day exhibition and two-day conference stream for 3D printing and tool-making.

Correction 2/25/15: The post previously stated that EuroMold had ended its partnership with Frankfurt Exhibition Corporation, not Mesago Messe Frankfurt. It also read that formnext powered by TCT would be an extension of the TCT + Personalize show and that the event was a two day conference, when it is a completely new four-day exhibition and two-day conference.
