Winsun 3D Prints Bus Stop, Announces 3D Printed Public Toilets Nationwide

Construction 3D printing is literally taking off and one company – more than many others involved – is taking digital, additive building practices from concept to reality. Winsun’s President and CEO, Ma Yihe, has always maintained that one of the biggest challenges that need to be overcome is lack of industry awareness since the benefits of using 3D printing technologies for construction have been widely established. The company has now set out to start a 3D printed public toilets revolution nationwide as well as a 3D printed bus stop revolution starting in Fengjing Ancient Town, Jinshan, a popular cultural town in China.

The very first 3D printed bus stop was put into use in Fengjing Road Four and located in Jinshan Garden. It was built by Yingchuang Building Technique Co.,Ltd (Winsun). The bus stop was 3D printed in the industry garden and then shipped out to the bus line. The 3D printing bus stop is a based on a closed-loop design. On the surface of the frame, there are traces of original “ink layers” made by the 3D printing machine ink nozzles. It is said that the gray “ink” trace is a mean to express nature by high-end luxury brands. The raw materials come from recycled waste cement materials, which are integrated with Fengjing ancient town. The passengers seem to be getting used to the 3D printing bus stop. A passenger interviewed said she did not know it was a 3D printed. While it could be improved from a purely aesthetic point of view, it should be noted that previously, this bus stop only had a stop sign.

The passengers also did not know that this 3D printed bus stop was built in Fengjing Town within one night. Introduced by Zhang Bing, secretary of the party committee of Fengjing Town, the 3D printed bus station that has been put into use as a pilot and demonstrator of the technology’s capabilities.

3D printing technology builds a city

The “Zhangjiang·Yangtze River Delta science & technology city” project is a new project, which will be built by Jinshan, Jiaxing and Zhangjiang together. Fengjing Town actively promotes the application of technology by local, innovative enterprises, carrying out a series of projects that will include 3D printed roads, a 3D printing architecture technology experience garden and a 3D printing technology town.

Interviewed during the “Zhangjiang·Yangtze River Delta Science & Technology City” presentation conference, Ma Yihe said that Winsun has designed a complete 3D printing vision for Fengjing. Beyond the 3D printed bus stop, the company will build a village service community similar to the Dubai printed office, a multi-functional landscape room, a 3D printing coffee shop, hotel, 3D printed public toilets, a bank self-service kiosk and a police booth.

The 3D printing technology ecological garden can be adapted to plant trees on the building’s roof; the company also designed a 3D printing co-share house. The bed, desk and writing desk in the house all are built together. The toilets – a key element in any sustainable construction project – will be designed by renowned designers and optimized to fully recycle all wastewaters. Winsun is committed to becoming the largest builder of 3D printed public toilets in the world.

Secretary Zhang Bing said that there are 90 square meters of land in Fengjing town waiting to be being built. At the same time, Winsun can recycle building waste from Fengjing to the Jinshan area and turn it to 3D printing material The “Zhangjiang·Yangtze River Delta Science & Technology City” project aims to build an international first-class city integrated with the Shanghai & Hangzhou area: an innovation & entrepreneurship-friendly, livable city with intelligent zoology, based on its geographical location. The technology city combines life, production and ecology perfectly, changing the construction mode of traditional industries and cities.

“Starting from the concept of people-oriented construction, we are striving to achieve perfect integration between industry, culture and art”, said President Ma Yihe, adding that Winsun aims to benefit people with technology innovation and is committed to achieving this mission.
