Silicon Valley’s bicycle brand Superstrata is known for its 3D printed carbon fiber bicycles and electric bicycles. The company will open a Superstrata store on its official portal, which contains customized products and advanced online configurators. In a market report recently released by 3dpbm Research, it is estimated that by the end of this century, the composite material additive manufacturing market will develop into a business opportunity of more than 10 billion US dollars every year. This end-use composite 3D printing product represents a key driver of the rapidly growing young composite AM market segment.
Superstrata’s custom 3D printed one-piece thermoplastic carbon fiber composite bicycles and electric bicycles can now be ordered in its online store, which has a customized configurator platform Superstrata Studio. The system allows buyers to enter their size, riding style and preferences, desired color/design, and component level to configure their own personalized bike.
Advanced manufacturing company Arevo provides basic technology, high-speed composite additive manufacturing, which makes the mass production of Superstrata possible. The technology consists of proprietary software, advanced software, robotic systems, and new materials, which can quickly and accurately design and mass-produce large and complex thermoplastic composite parts.
“We want to show what we can do and the scale we can do so that we can find a partner who can serve. We want to print something complicated. It’s a big deal.” You can’t use traditional 3D printers or composite manufacturing processes to produce Products,” said Tuan Pham, Arevo’s Chief Revenue Officer.
“Superstrata embodies the fusion of the most exciting aspects of additive manufacturing to date: an innovative, fully customizable design that enables large-scale and rapid production through cutting-edge technologies in robotics and materials science. This project reminds me of my excitement when I was working at Tesla.” added Maneesh Jain, Arevo’s vice president of engineering and operations.
Superstrata not only received strong support from supporters, but also received strong support from other consumer brands. It has released many special editions, including the iconic Japanese superhero Ultraman, one of the world’s largest electronic music festivals “Time Warp” and “St. Exupery”‘s eternal work “The Little Prince”.
The Superstrata launch event ended on October 10, after receiving nearly 5,000 orders from more than 80 countries/regions for more than $7 million, it became one of the fastest-growing and most successful events on Indiegogo (the crowdfunding platform was originally the Brand’s crowdfunding platform) launched).
