Chinese folk deities do not always have to look solemn and distant. In this series, they were reimagined as bright, funny, and slightly mischievous guochao blind box figurines, each carrying a familiar blessing symbol: longevity, wealth, protection, good fortune, or joyful wishes. The oversized heads, rounded bodies, exaggerated facial features, and candy-like colors make the characters feel instantly collectible.

What makes these prototypes charming is the balance between traditional Chinese mythological motifs and a very modern designer toy language. Details such as the “寿” emblem, ingot, ceremonial hat, fangs, eyebrows, robes, and decorative scroll were simplified into cute toy-like shapes, while the glossy surface finish gave the whole series a polished, shelf-ready look. It feels like the kind of cultural IP product that could work beautifully for museum merchandise, festival gifts, blind box toys, or tourism souvenirs.

These figurines were produced with WJP full-color 3D printing, a resin-based full-color printing process ideal for small character prototypes with rich colors and smooth gradients. After printing and finishing, clear acrylic oil was applied to create the glossy toy-like surface shown in the photos. Solution

 	
Step 1: The 3D models were checked before production, including the oversized heads, small accessories, robe details, facial expressions, blessing symbols, and delicate decorative elements.
 	
Step 2: The color data was prepared for WJP full-color 3D printing, so the bright pink, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, and translucent-looking color areas could be reproduced directly from the digital file.
 	
Step 3: The figurines were printed with full-color photopolymer resin materials, which were jetted and UV-cured layer by layer to form the colorful designer toy prototypes.
 	
Step 4: Support material was removed after printing, and small features such as the eyebrows, teeth, hats, hands, ears, scroll, and costume edges were carefully cleaned.
 	
Step 5: The surfaces were finished and sprayed with clear acrylic oil, giving the figurines their glossy blind-box-toy appearance while making the colors look brighter and more playful.
 	
Step 6: The finished prototypes were inspected from different angles to confirm the color consistency, surface gloss, character expression, and overall collectible display effect.
