About Project
These beautiful blind box prototypes are an absolute dream for any art toy collector! The modern Chinese “Guochao” aesthetic shines through brilliantly, blending traditional Hanfu-inspired garments, elaborate hairstyles, and cultural motifs like lotus leaves and opera masks with a sweet, contemporary chibi charm.
Each character shares a serene, closed-eye expression that ties the whole collection together into a cohesive story. Meanwhile, dynamic details like the flowing silk ribbons and a winding butterfly wand add a gorgeous sense of motion. It is exactly the kind of thoughtful, high-end character design that immediately makes you want to hunt down the entire set.
Bringing such intricate digital designs into the physical world requires serious technical magic, and the execution here is flawless. By utilizing full-color UV printing, the models achieve breathtaking gradient transitions and delicate, lifelike skin tones with a premium matte finish, completely bypassing the need for tedious manual painting.
Every tiny ornament and thin, sweeping prop maintains sharp edge definition and structural clarity without any distracting layer lines, perfectly mimicking the look and feel of final factory-made PVC.
If you want to see your own vibrant art toys, miniatures, or blind box concepts rendered in this exact level of stunning, photorealistic detail, you can elevate your design process today with FacFox’s full-color 3D printing services.
Solution
- Step 1: The digital 3D models were designed with precise geometric details and vibrant color textures using specialized CAD and 3D modeling software.
- Step 2: The completed digital files were exported and processed through slicing software to optimize orientation and layer settings for full-color output.
- Step 3: A Mimaki full-color UV inkjet 3D printer was utilized to build the prototypes layer by layer, where liquid photopolymer resins were jetted and instantly cured with UV light.
- Step 4: Millions of colors and delicate gradients were applied simultaneously during the printing process to achieve realistic skin tones and clothing patterns.
- Step 5: Sacrificial support material was printed alongside the figures to anchor overhangs, such as the flowing silk ribbons and thin butterfly wands.
- Step 6: The completed prototypes were removed from the print bed, and the temporary support structures were carefully dissolved in a water bath to reveal the final smooth matte finish.
