About Project

A circulating water plant or circulating water system is an arrangement of the flow of water in fossil-fuel power stations, chemical plants and oil refineries. The system is required because various industrial process plants use heat exchanger, and also for active fire protection measures. In chemical plants, for example in caustic soda production, water is needed in bulk quantity for preparation of brine. The circulating water system in any plant consists of a circulator pump, which develops an appropriate hydraulic head, and pipelines to circulate the water in the entire plant.

A research center was developing a new circulating water system and tried to make the model by 3D printing. We printed the model with SLA 3D printing and CNC machining technology.

Solution

  • Step 1: 3D modeling based on the blueprint.
  • Step 2: Produce the frame with a 3-axis CNC machine and make the rest parts with SLA 3D printing technology.
  • Step 3: Post-processing includes support removal, sanding, polishing, painting, and UV oil spraying.
  • Step 4: Assemble all the parts and deliver the model for structure validation.
