Solution

• Step 1: Design Creation. The designs for the snap fastenings and watch clasps were created using CAD software.
• Step 2: Wax Patterns Printing. The designs were then 3D printed in wax to create precise patterns.
• Step 3: Mold Preparation. The wax patterns were encased in a ceramic mold material and allowed to harden.
• Step 4: Wax Removal. The molds were heated to melt and remove the wax, leaving a cavity in the shape of the original design.
• Step 5: Brass Casting. Molten brass was poured into the ceramic molds and allowed to cool and solidify.
• Step 6: Mold Breaking. The ceramic molds were broken away to reveal the brass castings.
• Step 7: Surface Cleaning. The brass castings were cleaned to remove any residual ceramic material and impurities.
• Step 8: Polishing. The brass pieces were polished to achieve a smooth surface.
• Step 9: Electroplating Preparation. The polished brass samples were cleaned and prepared for electroplating.
• Step 10:  Gold Electroplating. The brass samples were submerged in an electroplating bath containing 18K gold solution, and an electric current was applied to deposit a thin layer of gold onto the surface.
• Step 11: Rinsing and Drying. The gold-plated samples were rinsed and dried to remove any remaining plating solution.
• Step 12: Quality Inspection. The finished samples were inspected for quality, and any imperfections such as pitting or undercutting were noted, especially in areas with sharp edges and complex geometries.
