Solution

• Step 1: Design Finalization. The 3D model of Sakura Bulbasaur was digitally designed and finalized by the keycap designer to include intricate details like the sakura flower and Bulbasaur’s unique features.
• Step 2: File Preparation. The 3D design file was converted into a format compatible with the Mimaki 3DUJ-553 printer to ensure seamless printing.
• Step 3: Material Loading. UV-curable resin and color ink cartridges were loaded into the Mimaki printer to enable vibrant and realistic color output.
• Step 4: Layer-by-Layer Printing. The Sakura Bulbasaur keycap was printed using Mimaki’s advanced UV inkjet technology. Each layer was precisely deposited and cured by UV light, producing vivid colors and smooth textures.
• Step 5: Support Material Application. Water-soluble support material was added during the printing process to stabilize the delicate sakura flower and intricate shapes of the keycap.
• Step 6: Support Material Removal. The keycap was submerged in water to dissolve the support material, leaving behind a clean and well-formed model.
• Step 7: Final Inspection. The finished keycap was thoroughly inspected for surface quality, color accuracy, and structural integrity before being finalized.
