About Project

Bringing digital art into the physical world used to mean hours of tedious hand-painting, but these jaw-dropping Betta fish figurines prove that the future of manufacturing has officially arrived.

What makes these models truly mesmerizing is the flawless color transitions flowing along the fins. Look closely at the pink-to-blue gradient fish: the colors blend seamlessly at a voxel level, mimicking the organic beauty of real aquatic life without a single hint of pixelation or graininess.

Beyond the colors, the structural engineering achieved here is magnificent. The ultra-thin, rippled fin geometries are incredibly complex, yet they printed perfectly with sharp, micro-detailed ridge lines that perfectly capture the delicate movement of a fish swimming through water. This is all thanks to cutting-edge White Jet Process (WJP) technology, which uses a specialized white ink filling method to deliver high-fidelity realism and vibrant, multi-material depth directly out of the build tray. The resulting smooth, matte surface finish eliminates the need for aggressive post-processing, ensuring that even the most fragile features remain structurally sound and beautiful.

Ready to bring your own colorful designs, collectibles, or figurines to life? Turn your vibrant concepts into a physical reality today with FacFox’s full-color WJP 3D printing services.

Solution

  • Step 1: The highly detailed digital 3D models of the Betta fish were meticulously designed in specialized modeling software, ensuring that the ultra-thin, rippled fin geometries and micro-detailed ridge lines were fully captured.
  • Step 2: Digital color textures were applied to the 3D meshes, map-matching the vibrant gradients and ensuring that the flawless color transitions were accurately prepared for voxel-level slice distribution.
  • Step 3: The finalized files were imported into the pre-processing slicing software, where the models were oriented on the virtual build platform and sacrificial support structures were automatically generated.
  • Step 4: The data was sent to the industrial full-color 3D printer, and the physical printing was initiated using cutting-edge White Jet Process (WJP) technology.
  • Step 5: Photopolymer resins were deposited layer by layer via advanced inkjet printheads, during which a specialized white ink filling method was utilized to deliver vibrant, multi-material depth and high-fidelity realism.
  • Step 6: Each deposited layer of color and support material was instantly cured by a built-in UV LED light source, solidifying the intricate fish structures instantly.
  • Step 7: The completed models were removed from the build tray, and the sacrificial support material was carefully dissolved or washed away, leaving behind a perfectly smooth, matte surface finish.
