Hanyang Technology, located in Baoding, Hebei Province China was founded in July 2017 by CEO Sasa Jia and Technical Director Vivian Wang. Hanyang’s core products are orthodontic at present, predominantly the production of tooth aligners. The business also engages in the application of medical and 3D printing technology research and recently registered a new transparent dental appliance brand MYDEMAK. For their high-end 3D printing needs, the Hanyang team turned to EnvisionTEC.

LPW Technology and Global Advanced Metals co-operate on 3D printing of tantalum Materials

LPW Technology (LPW) and Global Advanced Metals Pty Ltd (GAM) are cooperating to further demonstrate the suitability of spheroidized tantalum metal powder for 3D metal printing. Across this emerging industry, there are few examples of additively manufactured refractory metals, and a need exists for a more thorough proof of concept and development of print criteria. GAM is filling this void and expanding its product portfolio.

ActivArmor May Have Finally Cracked the 3D Printed Cast/Orthosis Riddle Additive Manufacturing

Ever since affordable 3D printing became a thing, a plethora of startups began envisioning it as a tool for producing truly customized orthopedic supports. Some efforts actually reach their goal but only in tailor made single solutions, not as a mass customization device. Now a company called ActiveArmor may have finally cracked that riddle, creating a 3D printed cast/orthotic support device for injuries and pain that is meeting with the favor of the medical community.

Visiting 3D print shops around the world was one of my favorite activities when I started blogging about 3D printer companies. Now that the company I founded on the wake of those experiences, 3D Printing Business Media Ltd., has grown into an global media company running three websites, an international team of professionals and conducting extensive market research in many industrial AM segments, visiting companies and shops is not often possible for me. FabRx Uses Sintratec’s SLS Technology to 3D Print Pharmaceuticals Medical

FabRx is a spin-out company from the University College London (UCL) holding a unique leadership position in the development of 3D printing for fabricating medicines (a segment 3DPMN has covered in the past). The company employs different 3D printing technologies such as FDM, SLA and now SLS to manufacture what it refers to as “Printlets” (3D printed tablets), with a wide range of pharmaceutical excipients.

Materialise and DePuy Synthes Extend Colaboration to Launch TRUMATCH Medical

Materialise NV released a shoulder planner for surgeons with the possibility to plan shoulder arthroplasty cases and order patient-specific shoulder guides, in collaboration with DePuy Synthes. The TRUMATCH Personalized Solutions Shoulder System, revealed at the AAOS Annual Meeting in New Orleans, marks a further extension of Materialise’s longstanding collaboration with DePuy Synthes, who will distribute the solution in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Europe.
