Italian 3D printing company Lumi Industries is preparing to unveil a new desktop 3D printer at Formnext this week. The resin-based 3D printer, called Lumi³ (LumiCube), was built for easy and accurate additive production and integrates a slew of new features that provide better efficiency and quality.
Kumovis, a Munich-based developer of 3D printers founded in 2017 (which was a winner of the Formnext Start Up Challenge in 2018), will showcase its KUMOVIS R1 3D printer at this year’s Formnext conference. The machine is the “world’s first 3D printer with clean room integration” and can be used for on-the-spot production of medical devices.
One of the keys to taking additive manufacturing to the next level in terms of industrialization is software. AM software advancements will not only unlock new designs and geometries, but will enable more efficient, connected and, crucially, automated production workflows. Modix, a large-format 3D printer specialist based in Tel Aviv, Israel, has launched its latest printer, the Modix MAMA. The “Modular Additive Manufacturing Assembler” has a variable print volume of between 1 x 1 x 1 meters and 2 x 5 x 1 meters, and will be presented next week at Formnext alongside other large-format machines.
Admatec, a Netherlands-based ceramic AM company, has today drawn the curtain on its latest product: the Admaflex 300, a flexible, open system for high volume ceramic and metal 3D printed components. The 3D printer, designed for production, offers an increased build volume as well as integrated in-process quality monitoring and an automated feedstock system.
Siemens has signed an agreement to acquire Atlas 3D, Inc., a Plymouth, Indiana-based developer of software that works with direct metal laser sintering (DMLS) printers to automatically provide design engineers with the optimal print orientation and requisite support structures for additive parts in near real-time. Atlas 3D will join Siemens Digital Industries Software, where its solutions will expand additive manufacturing capabilities in the Xcelerator portfolio of software.
BCN3D, a Barcelona-based 3D printer manufacturer, has launched its latest professional printer, the BCN3D Epsilon. The printer, which the company will showcase next week at Formnext, promises to “bring industrial power to your workbench.”
PostProcess Technologies a Buffalo, NY, based provider of automated post-printing solutions for industrial 3D printing, is expanding its European Channel Partner network with the addition of two distributors. CYLAOS, a French-based engineering company specialized in 3D printing industrial deployment, will cover the French market. In the Nordics region, KMC will serve PostProcess’ customer base as a specialist in surface treatment solutions.
ExOne, a pioneer of binder jet 3D printing technologies, is introducing the tenth member of its metal 3D printer family: the X1 160PRO. The 3D printer, which builds on the company’s 20 years of experience in the binder jetting arena, is ExOne’s largest metal 3D printer to date and can deliver high throughput production.
Dutch technology company 3devo is expanding to the United States. The Utrecht-based company, which specializes in high-quality desktop filament extrusion and plastic recycling solutions, opened a new office in Claymont, Delaware.
