Global engineering and additive manufacturing (AM) technology company, Renishaw, returns to Formnext in 2017, to take the next step in bringing additive manufacturing to mainstream production. From November 14th – 17th in Frankfurt, Germany, the company is exhibiting its latest developments alongside current hardware and software offerings, to unlock the benefits of increased productivity and process monitoring in additive manufacturing.
New technologies are the field where evolution and changes are the most noticeable. And such are the 3D systems of augmented reality – the devices are constantly upgraded to guarantee the highest image quality. The combination of virtual 3D reality and non-virtual reality is the result of collaboration of Sinterit and Professor Rigo Herold – a German researcher working on developing AR technology as well as on the design of data glasses. Glasses printed in SLS 3D technology allow for precise assembly of components and maximum comfort of using the equipment.
Skriware – a Polish-Swedish startup developing a 3D printing ecosystem for educational and home purposes has unveiled its latest device at the Gitex Technology Week 2017 – one of the world’s largest technology events.
Inovsys sas chooses the ProMaker P1000 3D printer from Prodways Technologies to equip its rapid manufacturing platform in the Henri-Fabre Technocenter.
Powered by cloud-based 3DPrinterOS workflow software, the Dremel DigiLab 3D45 is being presented as “the most reliable and easiest-to-use 3D printer for advanced users in higher education and corporations.” Launching on Amazon next November 1st, the latest successor to the original Dremel Idea Builder, it has a heated build plate and robust extruder enabling the use of more advanced filament types such as nylon and 3DPrintLife‘s eco-ABS. To make things easier, the 3D45 has filament detection via RFID that enables the printer to automatically recognize and change settings for optimized printing.
TechCrunch was the first to reported that Amazon has acquired Body Labs, a company with a stated aim of creating true-to-life 3D body models to support various b2b software applications — such as virtually trying on clothes or photorealistic avatars for gaming. The acquisition has since been confirmed by Body Labs on the company’s website.
In the world of advanced manufacturing, the term MES to describe software based Manufacturing Execution Systems is already fairly common. However, it is only now beginning to be introduced to AM, leading us to coin a new “AMES” (Additive Manufacturing Execution Systems) acronym. This is occurring now because only recently did AM start to become a true batch and potentially even a mass manufacturing technology.
3DSIM, a company leading in the development of functional and efficient simulation software focused on predicting the AM process, launched exaSIMTM ULTIMATE, completing the exaSIM process simulation portfolio. The new software adds full part Thermal Strain predictions (which is a unique feature) to Assumed Uniform and Scan Pattern strain, enabling engineers to leverage detailed additive manufacturing (AM) science to accurately predict part dimensions, to automatically correct for distortion and optimize supports. The software also enables users to visualize the effects of part orientation, process parameters and machine differences on AM-produced parts.
3D Printing Studios selected SAP Distributed Manufacturing to provide companies in the Asia Pacific Japan (APJ) region with access to the latest industrial 3D printing technology and services. 3D Printing Studios is the leading regional 3D printing service provider with current operation presence in Singapore as its Asia Hub, Sydney and its newly […]
