[Developing story] Vader acquisition confirmed as Xerox wants a share of the $8 billion AM market AM Industry

Xerox is the company whose copying machines business was so successful that its brand became a synonym for the family of products it made and sold. Since the company was quite active in the 3D printing patent arena, many may have thought it could have done the same for 3D printers. However, Xerox has never made a clear move into 3D printing, at least not like HP and Xaar have done. Until now that is. At the Investor’s Day 2019 conference taking place in New York, Xerox announced several new products in the 3D printing segment along with the acquisition of metal 3D printing startup Vader.

Today, the company expands its hardware offering with the launch of the L1 3D printer.

Essentium secures $22.2M to scale HSE 3D printing platform Money & Funding

Industrial 3D printing company Essentium, Inc. reported today it has raised $22.2 million through a Series A funding round led by BASF Venture Capital. Other investors that participated in the investment round include Materialise, Genesis Park and other existing seed round investors. The large investment will enable Essentium to scale its manufacturing, engineering, international distribution, sales and marketing operations for its recently launched High Speed Extrusion (HSE) technology.

Cooksongold to launch new precious metal parameters for EOS M 100 3D Printer Hardware

Cooksongold, part of the Heimerle + Meule Group, continues their additive manufacturing partnership with EOS for use of the technology in the jewelry and watch industry as well as for broader industry applications. At the Vicenzaoro show starting on January 18, 2019, in Vicenza, Cooksongold launches new precious metal parameters for the EOS M 100 System that will replace the system formerly known as PRECIOUS M 080.
