Munich Technology Conference on Additive Manufacturing prepares for 3rd edition, will focus on AM industrialization 3D Printing Events

Additive manufacturing has the potential to reach true industrial scale. Propelling it toward that goal are innovations in materials, hardware and software, but holding it back are regulatory and technical challenges yet to be overcome. These innovations and challenges will be the focus of the third annual Munich Technology Conference on Additive Manufacturing, MTC3, taking place October 8–10 at the Technical University of Munich in Germany.

AM service provider FATHOM acquired by CORE Industrial Partners AM Industry

FATHOM, an advanced manufacturer with expertise in 3D printing and additive manufacturing, has been acquired by CORE Industrial Partners (“CORE”), a Chicago-based private equity firm. The acquisition will bring together FATHOM and Midwest Composite Technologies (“MCT”), acquired by CORE in 2018, to form one of the largest privately-held digital manufacturing service providers in North America.

Renishaw considers consolidation of additive manufacturing facilities AM Industry

Renishaw, a UK-based specialist in metal AM, is reportedly considering a potential reorganization and consolidation of its additive manufacturing business by co-locating its AM engineering, marketing and commercial activities at its New Mills headquarters in Gloucestershire, England. If the plan goes ahead, the production of AM systems will continue at Renishaw’s Miskin site near Cardiff, South Wales.
