3D Systems Targets PEEK Implants with Acquisition of Kumovis

3D Systems (NYSE: DDD) entered into an agreement to acquire Kumovis, a Munich, Germany-based additive manufacturing solutions provider for personalized healthcare applications. Kumovis’ solutions are built upon their unique extrusion technology specifically developed for precision printing of medical-grade, high-performance polymers such as PEEK (polyether ether ketone).

Sauber Technologies has extended its technology partnership with metal additive manufacturing leader, Additive Industries for a further three years. Sauber Technologies has been using Additive Industries’ MetalFAB platform for metal additive manufacturing (AM) since 2017, with a current count of four systems in-house as the company embarks on new, ambitious projects for third-party customers. Sauber Technologies is also part of the same group as Alfa Romeo F1 Team ORLEN.

Prototal Damvig Introduces H350 SAF System from Stratasys

Prototal, the largest Nordic 3D printing service provider and one of the largest in Europe has introduced its first H350 3D printer system from Stratasys. The system, which leverages SAF technology (a type of thermal PBF similar to HP’s MJF) to support the production of complex geometric workpieces with tight tolerances and high surface requirements, has been installed at its Danish subsidiary Prototal Damvig.

Anker Launches Crowdfunding for AnkerMake M5 3D Printer

AnkerMake, a new 3D printing brand from rapid charging accessories brand Anker, is introducing the AnkerMake M5, a 3D printer that, according to the company’s press release, was designed “to improve the user experience by reducing printing time up to 70%.” The 3D printer, which also promises several other welcome improvements on basic desktop models, is not yet available commercially but only via a Kickstarter campaign.
