Barcelona-based 3D printer manufacturer BCN3D has produced 300 3D printed parts to create tourniquets to aid the humanitarian relief effort in Ukraine.
A 3D printing network in Michigan is rushing to aid Ukrainians during wartime by printing parts for tourniquets. The humanitarian effort is being led locally by Automation Alley’s Project DIAMOnD, a 3D printing network of 300 small and medium-sized manufacturers, which is working with Makershelp, a 3D printing organization in Denmark, to fulfill a request from the Ukrainian Defense Ministry to supply tourniquets to help those in need of medical assistance during the Russian assault on Ukraine. Project DIAMOnD will activate its emergency mode to mobilize all printers in its network to print tourniquet clips before final assembly in Denmark.
Bicycle accessories manufacturer fi’zi:k has introduced Argo Adaptive, an all-new 3D printed saddle that will be presented exclusively at the Sea Otter Classic between 07-10 April 2022. Utilizing Carbon DLS 3D printed “digital-padding”, the new saddle expands the Argo family and joins the best-selling Antares Versus Evo within the fi’zi:k Adaptive range.
Built as a single unit by composite PBF experts CRP Technology, the structural part of the Pleko spike shoes features a 3D printed outsole, midsole, pins and ribbing. The result is a functional prototype, flexible and resistant to deformation, which is innovative both in terms of customization and for the technologies and material used: carbon fiber-reinforced Windform SP composites.

Lamborghini has directed its in-house 3D printing facilities to manufacture medical equipment to fight the COVID-19 outbreak in Italy. The news comes after the Bologna-based supercar manufacturer’s home country became the center of the outbreak in Europe.
