FATHOM, an advanced manufacturer with expertise in 3D printing and additive manufacturing, has been acquired by CORE Industrial Partners (“CORE”), a Chicago-based private equity firm. The acquisition will bring together FATHOM and Midwest Composite Technologies (“MCT”), acquired by CORE in 2018, to form one of the largest privately-held digital manufacturing service providers in North America.
FIT Additive Manufacturing Group and Mitsui & Co. Machine Tech Ltd., a subsidiary of Japanese conglomerate Mitsui & Co., Ltd. have announced their cooperation in Japan. The partnership aims to provide Japanese manufacturing companies with the additive manufacturing solutions of FIT, the German AM specialist.

Saudi Aramco acquires SABIC, as the Saudi OEC company confirmed the signing of a share purchase agreement to acquire a 70% majority stake in SABIC from the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia. HP has recognized that strong partnerships within the AM industry will be an essential part of transitioning industries into digital manufacturing.
HBIS Group Co., a leading steel supplier in China, has announced a collaboration with Siemens focused on additive manufacturing technologies. Through the partnership, the companies will work on 3D printing R&D to advance industrial applications for the technology.

Italian 3D printer manufacturer Roboze is undeniably on the rise. In December, the company reported the securing of a €3M investment and its expectations to see growth of up to 500% in 2019. Today, the company is signalling its commitment to this growth by announcing its entry into the Japanese 3D printing market through a collaboration with K.K. IRISU, a Tokyo-based industrial equipment supplier.
