A closer look at Orion AM’s Thermal Radiation Fusion  3D Printer Hardware

You may not have heard of Germany-based Orion AM, and that’s likely because they were formed just before the pandemic. Their goal is to produce parts for advanced applications using aerospace-grade polymers, like PEEK and similar high-temperature engineering materials [the company was recently in the news, as its technology is being used for the first known 3D printed parts to ever touch down on the Moon’s surface]`.

Prototal installs EOS P 500 serial AM system as part of its growth strategy 3D Printer Hardware

EOS has made known that Prototal Industries, Scandinavia’s largest and most specialized additive manufacturing company, has installed a state-of-the-art EOS P 500 system for plastic laser sintering at Prototal GTP in Ystad. The P 500 system in Ystad will complement the group’s existing machine park which already has two EOS P 500 systems installed at 1zu1 in Austria. The automated manufacturing platform from EOS supports Prototal’s strategy to meet the requests and demands for industrial 3D printing of plastic parts on an industrial scale.

New TI DLP Pico chipset makes DLP 3D printing more affordable 3D Printing Processes

This story, which passed under most radars last year, could have some very important implications in dramatically broadening access to advanced DLP 3D printing technology to small business owners, hobbyists and consumers. Texas Instruments, the original inventors of digital light projection technology, introduced the new, TI DLP Pico chipsets to fit into smaller applications so that engineers can develop small, high-quality 3D printers that are more accessible and affordable.
