SLS 3D printing company Sinterit has launched its latest material, which will open up new opportunities for applications, especially in the electronics and automotive segments. The 3D printing powder, the company’s seventh material launched to date for its Lisa PRO system, is PA11 ESD.
ESD (electrostatic discharge) materials are engineered to limit static electricity, making them suitable for applications that involve electrostatic-sensitive devices. With ESD capability added to its materials portfolio, Sinterit has unlocked many new applications for its low-cost SLS platform.
For example, the new PA11 ESD powder is ideal for 3D printing electronic casings or test fixtures, as well as for ATEX connectors and parts and fixtures for electrostatic dissipation. In addition to its ESD properties, PA11 ESD also boasts excellent heat resistance, good dimensional stability and mechanical performance.
“The new PA11 ESD, bio-sourced from castor oil, is our new proposition dedicated to the electronics and automotive industry,” commented Konrad Glowacki, Co-Founder and Chief Business Development Officer at Sinterit. “An ESD-safe material with better thermal properties and dimensional stability was something our clients asked for, and now we are glad to deliver it.”
Manufacturing on Demand
The new PA11 ESD powder is compatible with Sinterit’s Lisa PRO system. The industrial 3D printer is equipped with a nitrogen chamber (a feature the Sinterit Lisa doesn’t have), which adapts the printing environment so that a wider range of materials can be used. The Sinterit Lisa PRO is the only system in the small SLS market that has such a feature.
Today, there are a total of seven materials released by Sinterit for its professional SLS platform: the flagship PA12 Smooth, PA11 Onyx, Flexa Grey, Flexa Soft, Flexa Bright, TPE and the material of the hour, PA11 ESD. “Altogether there are seven different materials,” Glowacki added. “But we are still developing new ones.”
Sinterit’s Lisa PRO and Lisa printers, along with its seven materials, are part of the Polish company’s end-to-end SLS 3D printing ecosystem, which also comprises software, powder management tools and finishing systems. Today, Sinterit’s offering is one of the most cost-accessible SLS solutions on the market.
