Last week, it was announced that 3DPrinterOS, the first operating system for 3D printers was partnering up with Rapide 3D, its first such partnership with a 3D printer manufacturer. This week the company is moving onto its first partnership with a 3D printing marketplace, Pinshape. The partnership will be formally announced and explored at the Collision conference on May 5-6 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Pinshape users will benefit from 3DPrinterOS’s powerful operating system. Users will be able to stream designs from the Pinshape marketplace directly to their printer, bringing unprecedented simplification and compatibility to the click-to-print experience. 3DPrinterOS API also eliminates intellectual property hurdles for designers, companies, and brands by providing a browser-to-printer experience, without the need for a design source file.
This partnership makes a lot of sense for a hardware-independent marketplace like Pinshape. Lucas Matheson, Pinshape CEO and Co-Founder explains, “As a hardware & software agnostic marketplace, working with 3DPrinterOS allows us to not only improve the user experience on our site, but effectively manage intellectual property concerns from brands & companies who are ready to enter this market.”
Matheson went on to speak about the new world 3DPrinterOS will open up for his users, “3DPrinterOS was able to provide the missing link to streamline the printing experience for our users. This integration is an important and much needed step in expanding the value of printable models on our platform. Now, companies and brands can market 3D models securely, at the same time, we can deliver a simple print experience straight from the cloud to the 3D printer.”
3DPrinterOS is also enthusiastic about the partnership. Pinshape and its wide community of users offer just the exposure 3DPrinterOS is looking for. John Dogru, CEO of 3DPrinterOS explains,“This partnership is a great step forward as designers are now able to finally unleash their incredible work to the world in a secure and compatible way across multiple platforms. Our goal is to radically increase adoption of and this means a future where simply means clicking print for any type of printer.”
This is a big step forward for other marketplace and hardware-independent companies. With 3DPrinterOS’s secure cloud capabilities, designers and brands can monetize their designs without having to share the source files. Simple, easy and with built in intellectual property protection. Sounds like a winning combination for users and designers.
