CyBe Construction moves to new location in Oss, Netherlands Materials

CyBe Construction has opened its new production facility in Oss, Netherlands, for its suppliers and back-end partners. Due to the company’s rapid growth over the past year, and the increasing demand for solutions to the global housing shortage problem, CyBe has had to scale up its production process and has moved into larger premises. At these new premises, CyBe can scale up the current production process and work on new developments.

Founder and CEO of CyBe Construction, Berry Hendriks, has a deep understanding of the limitations of traditional construction. Hendriks has been part of the Dutch construction industry for a long time. His family started in the industry in 1922 and is still running a construction company in the Netherlands. Hendriks’ knowledge and experience in the construction sector has created a unique perspective that lead to the understanding that the construction process could be made more efficient. Where traditional construction solutions are complex and time-consuming, 3D printing offers solutions to develop complex shapes in a timely manner. By automating the construction processes, companies can save on costs and time in the construction of various projects and products.

Since 2013 CyBe has been developing 3D concrete printers and applying the technology – redefining the construction sector. Globally, CyBe is active in the sales of 3D concrete printers, whereas in the Netherlands the company works mainly as a contractor. “Currently we have a sales pace of 2 printers per month, so our former production facility at the Kanaalstraat soon became too small,” said Berry Hendriks. “With more printers being developed, there was a lack of space”.

In addition to the two types of 3D printers that the company has been offering since 2013, the product range has been expanded to include three new types of printers. CyBe’s robot on a track is extremely suitable for construction companies to print large objects in a production hall, and is also ideal for pre-cast concrete suppliers, research institutes, and universities. In addition to this type of printer, the company also has a gantry system in its new Oss production hall. This makes it possible to prefabricate, almost completely, finished houses and should bring the square meter price to around €750, whereas conventional houses cost €1,000 to €1,500 per square meter. The latest type of printer offered by CyBE is a gantry system with an ABB robotic arm to fulfill the range and more complex prints.

Besides offering 3D concrete printers, CyBe Construction also offers its own software (Chysel and Artysan), materials (CyBe Mortar), Design and Engineering, and its own learning platform (CyBe Lybrary). This makes it possible to offer solutions to simplify complex construction processes and to collaborate more efficiently around 3DCP – with the major benefits of faster and more sustainable construction production.

Through CyBe Mortar, it has been possible to reduce CO2 emissions by 32%. Compared to other mortars, CyBe Mortar is hard within 3 minutes and is at structural strength in just one hour. In addition to this, the material is produced locally, which significantly reduces transportation costs – allowing for a fast and efficient printing process, reduced costs, and sustainable results.
