Bulgari is working on a new state-of-the-art jewelry manufacturing plant that is to become the largest in Europe and is due to open in the second half of 2016. Located in Valenza, near the northern Italian city of Alessandria, it will allow Bulgari to increase the brand’s production and is expected to recruit an additional 300 workers, for a total of approximately 700 employees.

Those who read this blog regularly know that we are big fans of 3D Racers, the game of 3D printed, connected, open-source and Arduino-based cars. Massimo Banzi is the co-founder of Arduino, the Italian manufacturer of the low-cost, open-source Arduino board driving much of the current Maker Revolution. Il nome, un termine che in inglese significa “vespa” ma che è anche un acronimo per World’s Advanced Saving Project, non deve ingannare: WASP è davvero una società di sognatori, fondata nel nome del desiderio utopico di rendere il mondo un posto migliore attraverso la manifattura additiva. Il collegamento di WASP alla Terra, però, va oltre il progetto BigBigDelta per stampare le case in 3D: la società stessa è un esempio brillante di artigianalità italiana applicata alle stampanti 3D. Ciò che la società fondata da Massimo Moretti difetta in termini di industrializzazione e processi di serializzazione è compensato con dedizione e attenzione ad ogni dettaglio.
Israele è una terra di opportunità per molte aziende, soprattutto nel settore IT. Diverse Maniere: Piranesi, Fantasy and Excess, an exhibit on Giovanni Battista Piranesi’s work, took place in London London, at the Sir John Soane’s Museum, until May 31st, 2014. The Italian artist’s creativity is mostly related to incredibly beautiful – though often imaginary – paintings and etchings inspired by extraordinary archaeological works of art. Now these paintings have been recreated as incredibly accurate 3D models and 3D printed.
